Green Valley is Henderson’s original master-planned community, known for established neighborhoods, mature landscaping, parks, shopping and a central location within the Las Vegas Valley. Developed beginning in the late 1970s, Green Valley encompasses a large collection of neighborhoods across central Henderson and remains one of the area’s most recognizable residential communities.
The broader Green Valley area is often referred to as Green Valley North and Green Valley South, with the separately developed Green Valley Ranch community situated between and surrounded by much of the original Green Valley area. Together, Green Valley North and South include the established neighborhoods that most local real estate searches simply identify as Green Valley.
One important distinction: Green Valley and Green Valley Ranch are not the same community. Because the names are so similar—and the areas are closely connected geographically—they are frequently confused or treated as interchangeable, even by people who have lived in Henderson for years.
